My Chu Khiem and his Sirinya

On May 18th I got to meet my Chu Khiem and his fiance Sirinya.  Chu is uncle in vietnamese.  They also flew all the way from California.  Once again, I looked for their wings but couldn't find them.  I wonder where mommy hides my wings?  After Chu Khiem and Sirinya came to my house, Ba Noi gave me a bath and I went to bed.  The next day mommy and daddy had lots of plans.  We packed a picnic and my stroller and went to Ohiopyle to take a nice long walk along the river.  My big brother Mochi also go to go with us.

                    Daddy ate a sandwich that was as big as me.  I got to eat mommy's milk.

 Then everyone got icecream (except for me) and we started our walk.  I wasn't too upset about the icecream because I knew that mommy was eating it to replenish my milk supply.

 Look at Ba Noi and Ong Noi.  Ong Noi was being so silly - he was trying to pull the trees down.

I love sitting on top of Daddy's head.  I can see so many more things that I can't see from my stroller.

After we finished our walk, we drove to mommy and daddy's favorite restaurant - Out of the Fire.  

I was tired then so mommy put me in my sling and I slept against her chest during the entire dinner.  I woke up just in time for dessert, but wasn't allowed to eat any of it so Ba Noi held me and rocked me back to sleep.


The next day we took Chu Khiem and Sirinya into Pittsburgh to show them around.  Daddy drove them past where he works.  We had breakfast at a place called Pamela's.  Mommy promised me that I would have that same breakfast later in the day.  I never saw it, but she promised me that I ate it.

 By the way - my Aunt Morgan bought me this onesie.  Any single men out there - my Aunt is very cute.  But first I'll have to approve...

 Mommy, Daddy, Ba Noi, Ong Noi and I went home and mommy made me practice my tummy time.  I'm doing much better and spend less and less time with my face buried in the floor

I had so much fun with Chu Khiem and Sirinya.  I can't wait to see them in California when I visit in August.  Plus I'll finally find out where mommy keeps my wings!

My First Ouchies

Before I tell you all about my boo-boos, let me tell you about my fun filled week with Ba Noi and Ong Noi.   I've really perfected squirting my poop out of the side of my diapers.  You all know how much I love my bath and shower.  Well, I figured that if I could make a big enough mess that maybe I would get an extra bath.  This wasn't exactly what I had in mind, but it was kind of fun...

 On May 12th I turned 2 months old and for my birthday my Ong Noi flew here from California.  I was so happy in the car driving to the airport to pick him up!  

By the way, Ba Noi taught me a special name for my bink in Vietnamese - it's a vú giả  (pronounced vu ya).  It means fake boob - heehee!

 Mommy says that California is far away - it's on the other side of something called the United  States of America.  I thought that Ong Noi was going to be so tired from flying all day but he was so happy to see me and didn't seem tired one bit.

 What I don't understand is where he put his wings?  I see the birdies fly outside with their wings, but Ong Noi didn't have any.  I even looked in his luggage - all that I could find in there was lots of food for Ba Noi and him to cook for my mommy and daddy.  He brought lots of rau (that's what they call all of the green leafy vegetables).


Sunday was Mommy's Day!  I was so excited for my Mommy - it was her first Mommy's day.  We had lots of visitors from a place called Maryland (mommy said that it is much closer than California and that we can drive there someday).  There were 8 of Ba Noi's cousins.  They came early in the morning and helped to cook tons of yummy food.  They also brought me lots of presents.  I like getting presents. I wonder if I'll get more presents on daddy's day!

Here I got to talk to Grandma, Poppie, Morgan and my Aunts, Uncles and cousins in New York.  I didn't understand how Mommy fit New York in that box in the family room in my house - Mommy explained to me that New York is not the box that we talk to my family through.  We were just video chatting and we'll visit New York again soon.

Do you see my right hand?  I was trying to make the sign for "I love you."

I bought mommy a necklace with that sign for mommy's day.  She loved it!

I love to make funny faces at Ba Noi.  She thinks that I'm hilarious.

I have so much fun with Ba Noi and Ong Noi.  I'm always smiling and talking to them.  And they must understand me because they talk right back to me.  I am so glad that they came here to play with me while mommy and daddy work.

By the way - mommy and daddy found my milk-o-meter.  It's on my tongue.  When there isn't anymore white on my tongue I let them know ;-)

 Here Ba Noi asked me to pose like a body builder - what do you think?  My muscles are definitely bigger from all of the vu sua I've been drinking!

Ba Noi has also been taking videos of me - I just haven't shown her how to hold the video camera.  She's so silly!!

 Alright - so this one isn't such a smiley picture.  I was practicing my scared face for when Ong Noi makes funny faces at me!  I think that I've perfected it.

 Ba Noi is so silly - she makes me laugh all of the time!

Every once in a while I have to be serious - just to make sure that Ba Noi and Ong Noi know that I am not always a jokester.

 

On Wednesday Mommy and Ba Noi took me to the doctor's office for my 2 month check up.  I grew so much!  I now weigh 11 lbs 4 oz and I'm 23 1/4 inches long.  That's almost 2 feet!!

I was so happy when mommy told me how big I grew.  But then this lady walked in the room with a silver platter.  She made mommy lay me on the table and hold my arms.  She gave me a yummy drink  first and then she gave me my ouchies - one in my left thigh and two in my right thigh.  I screamed and cried so loud.  Tears were running down my cheeks.  Mommy felt so bad.  The lady put band-aids on my ouchies and let me go home.  I didn't like that lady.  I was tired when I got home and slept for 3 hours.

 When I woke up I was still a little angry at mommy for taking me to see that mean lady that gave me my ouchies.

 I asked her, "why did you let that lady give me ouchies in my legs?"  Mommy told me that even though it hurt today I would be very thankful later on when I didn't get the viruses I was vaccinated against (whatever that means).

 Do you see my ouchies?  Well, I forgot all about them once Ba Noi gave me my bath and bottle.

Mommy gave me tylenol all night so that I wouldn't feel so bad.  I bounced back right away - just in time for my visit with Chu Khiem (that's Uncle Khiem) and Sirinya (his fiance).  I'll tell you all about it soon, but right now mommy says that I have to take a nap because I'm being a crabby pants.
