Looking for a Giant Eagle and Mommy's Heart

I'm 7 weeks old today!  Can you believe it?  I feel like such a big boy.  This was me sleeping today.

Do you remember how I said that I wasn't going to let Mommy take pictures of me smiling?  Well, that sneaky mommy got me - I just couldn't help myself and she was waiting patiently with her camera in hand...

I had a very busy and exciting week.  Mommy drove me all over Westmoreland County.  On Tuesday she took me to visit her office in North Huntingdon but first we went to Kohl's to buy some pillows.  Mommy took me in my stroller and then realized that she didn't have anywhere to put her stuff.  I offered to hold the pillow for her, but the pillow was 22" big and that's exactly how big I am, so Mommy said that I couldn't hold it this time.  Maybe next time when I'm 23" big.

I did, however, spit up on Miss Laura at the office after I drank Mommy's milk.

Tuesday night I was so tired that I slept for 5 hours straight.  Mommy was so excited that she promised to drive me all over Western Pennsylvania every day if it would help me to sleep at night.

Well, since I slept so well on Tuesday night, I figured that I would give mommy a run for her money on Wednesday morning.  We had another appointment at the Pediatricians office to check my weight, but I wasn't going to let her out of the house without one of my sneak attacks.  I was so hungry Wednesday morning after I slept so well that I ate and ate and ate my milk.  I ate so much that it couldn't all fit into my belly so I threw it up all over mommy's pajamas and down my pajamas.  Mommy thought that since she was going into the shower she would take me in when she was all clean.  But I had a plan.  Mommy put me in my rocker and I sat there nice and quietly, but in reality I was filling up my diaper.  Mommy finished washing her hair and stepped out of the shower to get me undressed.  And then - SURPRISE!!  I had such a big poop in my diaper that mommy didn't know what to do.  She decided that I couldn't take a shower with all of that poop on my butt so she put on her robe, turned off the shower and went into my bathroom to get my bath ready.  And while she was getting my bath ready I threw up down the sleeve of her robe.  It was brilliant!  Mommy had a funny laugh, but I'm not so sure she thought it was that funny.  We eventually made it out of the house to see the doctor and guess what?!?!

I WEIGHED 10 LBS 1 OZ!!  I gained 1 1/2 pounds in 2 weeks!  Mommy was so proud that she started cheering in the doctor's office.  Even the doctor was proud.  Can you imagine what I would have weighed if I hadn't made such a mess that morning?

And after the doctor's office, mommy stuck to her promise.  We drove all over Westmoreland county.  We went to see her office in Scottdale and in Greensburg.  And in Scottdale I got to spit up on Miss Lisa.  I didn't spit up on anyone in Greensburg, but I know that I'll be back there soon.

On Thursday Mommy said that she needed to buy some groceries, but she took me to a store called Giant Eagle.
Mommy told me to thank the mamas and papas again for keeping me so close to her chest and having an empty cart to fill with food.  I looked all over the store for the Giant Eagle, but I never found him.  Hopefully mommy takes me back there soon when I can face forward and maybe then I'll find the Giant Eagle.

On Friday I had a big day!  First Mommy took me to the hospital she works at (and where I was born).  She put me in this neat sling that kept me snug against her chest.  I loved it so much that I fell right asleep.

Then she drove me down to Pittsburgh to visit Daddy at work.  I really liked his office.  It has Mommy's milk there too!

Daddy drove me home while Mommy got her hair cut.  When she came home she told me how much she missed me.  I told her how much I missed her [milk] and then she fed me.

Saturday was my favorite day - Mommy and Daddy first took me to Quaker Steak and Lube.  I ate my lunch in Daddy's car in the parking lot but Mommy and Daddy ate their's in the restaurant.  Daddy said he wants to try the atomic wings.  Mommy yelled at him.  Maybe one day I'll try the atomic wings. From the restaurant we went to the airport to pick up Ba Noi (that's my Grandma on my Daddy's side).  I was so excited to finally meet her!

She gave me lots of kisses and even gave me my first massage.  I loved it so much that I fell asleep.
I am so excited that she is here for the next month.  I love her so much.  I can't wait to meet my Ong Noi (that's Grandpa on my Daddy's side) in 2 weeks.

On Sunday, Mommy, Daddy and Ba Noi took me to church for my friend Gia's baptism.  Mommy says that Gia is very special because mommy delivered Gia on mommy's birthday!  Well, I was so tired when we got to church that when it was time for Gia's baptism I just couldn't stop crying.   Mommy had to take me into the hallway so that people wouldn't stare at me instead of Gia and we missed the entire service (sorry Gia).  We did get to go to her house and play.  I can't wait to have play-dates with her when I grow up and can hold my head up!

Even though today was my 7 week birthday, mommy was very sad.  She had to go back to work today. I tried to sleep this morning to let her get ready, but I heard her tell Daddy that she had to wake me and feed me with the light on so that she could look at me one last time before she left for work.  So I woke up for her and I got mommy's milk right from mommy.  She told Daddy that she left her heart at home when she left for work so I looked all morning for it.  At lunchtime Daddy and Ba Noi took me to Mommy's hospital so that I could get Mommy's milk from mommy.  Mommy was so happy to see me and I was so happy to see her [boobies].  I ate my milk and when I came home I looked all around for her heart.  When mommy came home after work and Ba Noi gave me to her she told me that she found her heart (and I heard it).  I'm so glad it's not lost anymore.

I'm 6 weeks old

I am 6 weeks old today.  I don't have a lot to tell everyone since I wrote so much yesterday.  But I will let you know that I woke up extra early today so that I could party for as many hours as possible today.  And I also managed to stay awake for most of the hours today.  I wore my special party shirt - B.Y.O.B - I know that it stands for bring your own bottle, but for me it stands for bring your own boobie (and I always bring mine).

I'm also allowed to sit on the couch with my Daddy and watch sports - Let's go Lakers!!

(I'm naked here because I had another sneak attack on mommy)

And now mommy lets me sit in the big boy chair.  Although this must be a really big boy that sits in this chair.  Maybe I'll grow into it!

By the way - did I ever show you how much I love my daddy?
(someday I'll be able to get my arms all the way around him)

For my 6 week birthday my mommy made me this video all about the day I was born.  I hope that you like it...

Happy Birthday Hudson

Oh boy do I have a lot to tell you about.  First let me start with today because today is a very special day. Today my Uncle Adam and Aunt Lindsay had their baby - Hudson!  I am a big cousin.  He looks so cute but he's almost as big as me, so you know what that means...yup, you guessed it.  MORE MILK!!!  I can't wait to meet him.  He was 8lbs9oz.  I am so proud of my Aunt Lindsay for finally letting him out and for my Uncle Adam who remained standing while Hudson made his grand entrance.  I have so much to teach him...

Now mommy says that I have to thank the "mamas and papas" because they have helped mommy sooooo much.  I'm not really sure what she means by that but lately she's been putting me in this carrier thing and dancing around the house to keep me entertained.  It's a lot of fun.
 Daddy wears it sometimes too.

Last weekend we went to a park with 2 lakes.  Big brother Mochi came with us and we met mommy and daddy's friends Nicole and Rob there.  They had a baby with them too but they had to return that baby later on that day.  I hope that mommy and daddy don't have to return me...
That night we went to Nicole and Rob's house for dinner.  And when all of the adults sat down to eat dinner, I demanded my dinner too so mommy sat with me on the couch and fed me.  I got to meet a new animal that night.  They have a cat named Heinz that is bigger than Mochi.  Mochi and Heinz looked like they loved each other like I love my mommy and daddy, and spent the whole night staring at each other like I stare at mommy and daddy.
I fell asleep there because it was past my bedtime.
Now I'm getting better at this tummy time thing, but I prefer to do it when my daddy and my big brother Mochi do it with me.

I'm also getting better at making messes.  On Thursday, mommy and I didn't have such a great day.  You see, I don't really like to sleep at night.  Usually by 3am I'm done sleeping and I want to get up and play.  Mommy and Daddy don't seem too thrilled with the idea, but eventually they give in.  So after mommy and I played for a while and Daddy went to work, I took a nap.  When I woke up I came up with a new game during feeding - throw up on mommy.  But you can't just throw up on her shoulder when she's burping you because then you get dirty.  You have to figure out a way to throw up on mommy and keep yourself clean (are you listening Hudson??).  So when mommy was washing her hands at the sink and holding me close to her chest, I turned my head, pretending that I was nuzzling it close to her and let loose.  It was priceless - I managed to throw up on mommy's chest and into her bra and I didn't get any on me.  Mommy just shook her head and smiled.  It wasn't her normal smile, but I think she enjoyed the game.

Well, my mommy's smart and I couldn't play that game two days in a row, so on Friday I picked a different game.  I've been saving my poops lately - instead of pooping every time I eat, I poop once or twice every day or every other day.  On Friday since I got up to play really early in the morning, I figured I should let mommy shower (but I was scheming the whole time).  While I was waiting in my rocker for mommy to finish showering, I threw up and let it drip behind my head onto my hair.  Now I know that you're thinking how gross that was, but that was just the distraction.  Mommy took me into my bathroom to wash my hair, and while she was scrubbing my head I pooped everything I had saved up the day before.  Mommy had no idea what was coming - she brought me into my room and put me on the changing table and saw the poop at the edge of my diaper.  And then she looked at her arm and it was covered in poop!!  I was so proud of myself.  I think that mommy likes this game - I'll have to come up with some other sneak attacks.

I do however do a great job of sleeping during the day...

The breastfeeding is going better too.  I eat my milk every 2-3 hours.  And mommy says that she's glad that she is breastfeeding.  We go to the store, and if I'm hungry mommy takes me to the car and feeds me.  We go to mommy's friend's house and when I'm hungry, mommy feeds me.  I'm so glad that mommy can't forget my milk at home and that it always goes with her.

But the best part of my week (up until my cousin was born) was taking my first shower.  Daddy was taking a shower and since I needed my bath, mommy asked daddy to take me into the shower with him.  And I loved it.  I think that mommy took a picture for every second that I was in the shower (all G-rated of course).

I'm starting to smile too, but I only do it when mommy doesn't have her camera nearby so that nobody else can see it.  Maybe next week I'll let you see me smile...
